Original BMW batteries with AGM technology (AGM stands for Absorbant Glass Mat: absorbent glass fiber fleece) are the answer to the growing energy demand. Original BMW batteries with AGM technology must be installed in all vehicles with a start / stop function, brake energy regeneration, auxiliary heating or in vehicles that have already been equipped with AGM technology at the factory.
Advantages of an AGM battery:
AGM batteries are leak-proof because the sulfuric acid is 100% bound in mats made of glass fiber fleece.
Rechargeable even after deep discharge, i.e. a battery can be recharged even if it is completely discharged. This is particularly relevant for vehicles with BMW EfficientDynamics technologies such as brake energy recovery and the auto start / stop function.
Original BMW batteries with AGM technology are particularly recommended for models with a high energy requirement and high cyclical loads, for example due to an unfavorable usage profile, e.g. for short distance drivers.
